This is a very worm but lovely condition Imperial German Model 1889 Infantry Officer sword and scabbard with a tremendous damascus steel blade, presented by a member of the von Oertzen family to a member of the von Harbou family, almost certainly by an officer to an officer. The hilt is a gilded brass D shape fold away guard with the Imperial German eagle of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The grip is brass wire bound over horn ebony
