the maker information has been written in Japanese on the outside of the resting scabbard

which is now almost completely missing

This is very nice service damaged example of a field worn M43 winter field cap. The cap has had the exterior leather on the right side deteriorate, with numerous tears all the way through, showing the interior fur lining. There is also a a cut on the rear left, as well as overall staining and wear. This is definitely not a cap that sat in a warehouse, and most definitely saw long use on the Eastern Front! The severe
