The nametag under the collar identifies the uniform to Captain & later Major Edward Downes Bally OBE, a recipient of the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle 4th Class, the Order of the British Empire, and was mentioned in despatches on several occasions. He fought during the Boer Wars, and was in the employ of the Egyptian Army
