Defiance County, Ohio Flags Size:2x3 ft 2002 to honor the state'sDefiance County held a contest in 2002 to design its flag. Designs were submitted by 6th grade students and county employees. The final design shows a blue stripe between two yellow borders. 12 red stars appear around the center circle in which appears a map of the county and a man in a canoe. Defiance County was established in 1845. Its name comes from Fort Defiance built by Anthony Wayne in 1794.
