This is a piston from an engine on the B-17 Flying Fortress Serial Number 44-6464 called Prop Wash (AKA Hare's Breath) which was assigned to the 612th Bomb Squadron

there are also late 19th century German Civilian Commercial markings on the left side of the receiver near the woodline:

The serial number 3617 appears on all parts of the gun except for the nose cap which is marked 6139
