This fine rifle is in . 38 40 caliber (marked . 38 W. C. F. over the chamber) with a 19" octagonal barrel and full length magazine tube. The front of the barrel is smooth, so most likely the muzzle suffered damage, and was removed. Features the classic front sight and a "flat top" rear adjustable sight. The serial number is 336626B denoting the year of manufacture as 1890. The engraving
