Here we have a very nice original Eagle Headed U. S. Officer's sword from the mid 1800s. The sword is all brass mounted with an interesting two part "D" hand guard and a a very nice "closed mouth" Eagle pommel. The grip is carved ribbed bone, and while it does show age, we do not see any cracks or chips on it at all. The eagle's head is very well executed, with a lovely antiqued brass patina. It is however now loose
