Recently acquired from a prominent American collection, the is a fantastic example of a genuine American Revolution Era 18 Pounder Naval Cannon Bar Shot Projectile. The solid iron projectile measures 12 inches long with two 5 inch cylindrical ends. Bar shot were employed to destroy an enemy ships masts and rigging. It was designed to tumble and cause maximum damage, thus disabling the enemy. This example was
