The Sherwood Rangers were part of the Nottinghamshire Yeomanry raised in 1794. Intended, as a domestic regiment it's first overseas action was in the 2nd Boer War 1899 1901 where is received it's first Battle Honor. In WWII it saw extensive overseas service including TOBRUK in North Africa and up through Italy from WW2 alone the Regiment added another 30 Battle Honors.
