The scene beautifully depicts daily Dutch life in a town or village. Signed by Vertin, and dated 1867 on the lower right corner. On the back is what appears to be the word of "Bosch," which could refer to the Dutch town Bosch En Duin and thus, the subject location of the painting. The painting retains its original frame.
