This is an extremely scarce conversion because in 1943 the new made 12" bladed P-1943 India Pattern Bayonet without blade fuller was adopted and that in turn was replaced in 1944 by the square pommel P-1944 Jungle Fighting Bayonet

This was quickly replaced by a three piece ejector, because the milled version was much too expensive and time consuming to manufacture. IMA has a small number of these ejectors; most Thompson enthusiasts never have an opportunity to see one, much less own one.
