This is very nice German WWII Air Raid Street Warden Strassen Erlaubnis (Permitted on Roads) armband (rmelbinde), made from what we believe is white machine woven cotton. This pattern of armband was used in the occupied Netherlands during air raids, and were worn by street wardens whose responsibility was to make sure that all the lights on that block were turned out. It has a large STRASSEN ERLAUBNIS printed on the
