Tumbled Opal White Copal The bowl is carved fromopal soft milky white, translucent and quietly luminous, a glow that rises and settles without ever flashing into colour. Silica that set as a gel and kept its water. Tumbled smooth. Opal is hydrated silica silica that set as a gel and never crystallised, holding several percent water in its body. This is the common kind, without the spectral fire of precious opal: a soft, even light scattering through the stone rather than splitting into colours.
