Vincent Girardin, Corton Charlemagne Blanc Vintage:2000 supple and generous medium full

supple and generous medium full flavors that culminate in a velvety and long finish

of which the 2018 El Reventón is a textbook example

showing little in the way of easy sweetness but also avoiding the greenness that plagues some 2008s

(from vines first planted in 1902)

Vincent Girardin, Corton Charlemagne Blanc Vintage:2000 supple and generous medium full(from Ladoix fruit). A ripe and vaguely exotic nose grudgingly reveals its aromas of orange peel, green apple, white peach and a whiff of jasmine tea. The dense, muscular and powerful big bodied flavors exude a bracing salinity on the mouth coating, clean and dry finish that is firm and borderline rustic. This will need at least some patience and reward a decade plus of bottle aging.
